My First Baja Passion Fruit

2022 June 19

Received a passiflora arida in a 6 inch pot that was dug out of a California Rare Fruit Growers member’s vegetable garden. It had grown from seed that fell from a near by plant. I put it in the shade under a large ash tree and moved it a little more out into the sun each day.

2022 November 9

The first flower opened today. I hand pollinated it after taking the picture. Although I don’t think hand pollination is necessary for this species.

The next flower is opening (5pm).

2023 March 4
