Planting where there is shelter from wind will make a difference in the temperatures the plant experiences.
Frost Cloth
making a frost cloth shelter around the plant will make a several degree difference. Plants should not touch the cloth. In combination with a heater (see below) this will make a big difference.
Heaters
Halogen (not LED) flood lights can be used as cheap heaters. Temperature controlled outlets can be purchased to automate turning heaters on/off. Make sure that plugs will not get wet in irrigation or rain.
