Spraying with a strong jet of water will dislodge them from the plant.

Spraying with dish soap and water will suffocate them, but they must be sprayed directly.

8oz molasses mixed in a gallon of water can be sprayed on plants to kill aphids. This works for sucking insects generally. (from Tony Sarah)
