Grows very easily in Phoenix. Just deep water every week or two and you’ll have more figs than you know what to do with in a few year.
Green skinned varieties may suffer less from bird damage.
Propagation
Sand method for rooting cuttings.
Usually propagated from cuttings after the tree looses its leaves in the winter. The fig pop method is a common procedure for cuttings. Figs can be air layered any time of year.
Grafting is most successful in the spring when the sap is starting to flow (i.e. the plant is starting to grow).
