I bought a “starter” size Ice Cream Bean in a soft plastic sleeve from Tropica Mango for $25.

Planted in the front yard in a hole just big enough for the root ball. I didn’t amend the back fill. I put 6 plus inches of mulch around it and provided shade after 10am using shade cloth. I don’t know the shade percentage but it is probably more than 50% which is too much shade. I plan to replace the cloth with something closer to 30% soon.

Looks like this was developing salt burn so I watered it with a gallon or two of the water from my AC condensation run off.

This plant was putting out a lot of new growth and then it was suddenly crispy 😦 Maybe it was too little shade and water and the temperature suddenly jumping 15+ degrees into the 110’s.
