Approach graft with veneer style cut maybe 3 or 4 inches long using Macrophylla that I bought for $20 from a CRFG member for the roots and my dad’s 1 year in the ground tree as the “scion”.

I noticed that the root stock had died back below the graft. I didn’t leave any leaves above the graft on the root stock. I think this caused it to die back.
