I bought a Jamaican Cherry fruit from CRiSP for $2.

The fruit was brown and starting to shrivel when i got it but it was not dried out.

I used a tall (12 fl oz) Starbucks cup with an 1/8 inch hole in the bottom as a pot, filled it with sand and put a 1/16 inch of worm castings on the top. I bottom watered the pot to be sure that everything was very wet and the layer of worm castings was not mixed into the sand.

I put a little water in a small bowl and squeezed the fruit pulp into the water. I used a syringe to suck up some seeds and put them one drop at a time on the worm castings. Then put a trenta (31 fl oz) starbucks cup on top as a green house dome. At the time of writing, the trenta cold drink cup fits with a water tight seal on top of the other cold drink cups.

The pots were set under a few CFL light bulbs on a heat mat set to 95F.

Noticed tiny green sprouts.

I had moved the cups with worm casting topped sand out side an put a spot spitter in each cup. I had problems with damping off because the spot spitters were running several times a day. Seems like watering once mid day is enough and no longer getting damping off.
