Planted Red Star papaya seeds that I got from the CRFG meeting last night. I put the seeds inside of toilet paper tubes buried half way in the ground to prevent cutworms and other caterpillars from eating the seedlings. They tend to decimate unprotected sprouts. I put compost in side the tubes instead of the native clay. I don’t think it is really necessary.
